For the past couple of years I’ve been driving by this place with the bright pink neon sign that reads “Wine and Beer.”
Curious on a hot Thursday summer night in the desert, I finally decided to stop in and explore!
“Dead or Alive” is a quaint wine bar tucked in a corner of highway 111 next to Mirasol restaurant.
I ordered the rose from Santa Barbara, which was nice and dry… much like the desert.
I paired it with a chicken flauta from next door! You can order food from Mirasol and they’ll deliver…
The bar is cozy, it’s dark with a bright pink ball at the end of the bar. It was soothing and I found myself lost in thought pondering my own mortality…
Laughter broke my inner queries, and I looked all around me as the bar started to fill with desert locals. The girl from the coffee shop with eccentric date, another couple mulling over pictures from a magazine shoot.
We chatted briefly about wine, storytelling and summer!
A great ending to a hot summer evening sipping some summer wine!
