Marky Mark and The Funky Bunch

Well, the Wahlberg brothers have definitely got some “new vibrations “ going on with their burger joint Wahlburgers.

I had heard about Wahlburgers from a friend who was at the Morongo casino cleaning out the roulette table with a win of $1000.00.

“Wahlburgers opened up and there were lines of people around the corner.”

Another friend told me about the Wahlburgers reality TV show. Six episodes on how they created the Wahlburgers franchise new burger joint.

Of course, my curiosity got the best of me and I had to stop by.

I really love the Wahlberg brothers cut outs you can pose with.

I remember when I was 18 years old and seeing Mark Wahlberg perform with his then band “Marky Mark and The Funky Bunch” at Magic Mountain in California. His song good vibrations was one of those tunes that gets stuck in your head and never comes out. I believe it also topped the charts on various radio stations.

Of course his brother Donnie Wahlberg is famous for being in the ‘New Kids On The Block ‘ boy band of the 1990’s.

In the “Wahlburgers” reality TV series… brother Paul is a chef who runs the Boston based hamburger joint. I’ve only watched a quick clip where Paul and his mom go to visit their old family home. Apparently mama Wahlberg also works at the Boston location.

There are 2 Wahlburger locations in Southern California. And the one I chose to checkout was in the Morongo Casino In Cabazon.

I didn’t see any line sheen I got there. I was able to just walk up and place my order. But then I noticed a huge line forming. Of course it was lunch time.

I ordered the “Our” burger which is chef Paul’s choice. And the onion thin crispy onion rings. They don’t serve cocktails here but there’s a bar next door where you can play video poker and order a cocktail.

In a scale of “Yum, Yummy, And Yumtastic” I’m giving it a “Yum.”

The burger is marketed as being very much like a backyard burger. I can make a backyard burger at home. When I go out to eat and if I’m spending $20.00 total for a burger and a side I’m expecting something different. Unfortunately… I felt I could make a way better backyard burger in my own backyard for that price. The onion rings were just ok.. and a bit “meh.”

I really wanted to like this place. I might just give it another whirl and try their fish sandwich which looks interesting. I guess you can say it’s just a one off if your looking for something with a novelty flair to try out! Your choice! But an interesting and fun concept! The benefit of this site is you can do a little gambling and channel some good vibrations for a big jackpot!
