Mio Pane: Was the Line Worth the Wait?
There are people in the world so hungry that God cannot appear to them except in the form of bread. – Mahatma Ghandi

The line wasn’t that long. I think I waited approximately 15 minutes. Possibly less.
I really didn’t know much about Mio Pane. In Italian Mio Pane means “my bread.” However, I from the looks of some of the patrons in line this place has got some Japanese inspo.
Chat GPT tells me that “Mio” is the name of a Japanese girl which means “beautiful thread or cord.” Mio can also be the name of a waterway or channel. And it can also mean not yet finished.
However, the word “pane” in Japanese does mean “bread” like in Italian. The word “pane” was brought over by Portuguese traders in the 1500’s which was originally called “pao.”

What brought me to Mio Pane was TikTok of course.

My eyes were bigger than my stomach and at first glance I wanted one of everything. I settled on the garlic cream cheese bagel, tire mi su croissant and a Spanish iced latte.

My evaluation: the garlic bagel overall was good 8/10 but a bit too pillowy soft for me. the tira mi su croissant delicious and not too sweet 7/10 the Spanish latte just ok 5/10.
People watching 10/10 with several Japanese ladies hanging out with each other and bonding which was nice to see.

Overall, I thought this place was interesting. The lines weren’t that bad. Would I go again, probably not.
