Fun w/ Soup Dumplings@ Din Tai Fung

Din Tai Fung: I’ve been hearing about this place for months. A #tinder date brought me here a few months ago. Due to long lines and his anxiety, we didn’t stay. Epic fail.
Today, I savored the famous soup dumplings.
The artistic folds are as beautifully constructed as Anthony Bourdain states in The Layover: Taiwan edition. Taiwan is a bit far… Luckily Din Tai Fung is just a stones throw away in Glendale!
The sweet and sour soup is pretty too! The waitress teaches you how to mix your dumpling dipping sauce: 3 parts vinegar 1 part soy sauce and as much red pepper paste as you want!
I went for the crowd fav’s: crab and pork, shrimp and pork. Yum … Double yum when the soup packet bursts in your mouth!
Chicken fried rice and honey green ice tea tea paired well.
For dessert… Tits! Well, that’s what they looked like: taro buns with nipples. Delish not too sweet … A great ending to a good meal!
A must try if you’ve never had a soup dumpling or can’t make it to Taiwan… A must try if your in Glendale!
Cheers!
