Life could be horrible in the wrong trouser of time.

-Terry Patchet

Are you living on more than one timeline?

Many people are.

Some are time-travelers.

Others are NPC’s.

Then there are the inter-dimensional beings.

However, the 1963 Italian movie Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow tells the story of how we can be different avatars on multiple timelines.

Its A Story About A Lovely Lady

The movie stars Sophia Loren & Marcelo Mastroianni, a comedy anthology that showcases one woman in three different roles. She’s an overburdened housewife with seven children who’s husband doesn’t have a job. She’s the tempestuous wife of a rich aristocrat, who’s never home, and she goes out for a car ride in a Rolls-Royce with a male companion. And she’s the prostitute who lives next door to a priest and his mother,

It’s probably where that “everything bagel” movie that one starring Michelle Tam, Everything, Everywhere, All at Once got the idea of ONE woman living multiple lives.

It’s Crazy. Possibly True.

I have a firm belief that we are all living on multiple timelines. In multiple realities. In multiple dimensions.

Kinda makes sense.

But what happens when we get stuck in between 2 timelines. What happens when we are lost in a vacuum of time and space?

We get trapped.

We start looping the same story over and over again.

Nothing changes.

It’s kinda like that series on Netflix. The one where the guy is a VHS archivist who gets hired to restore a bunch of tapes from a building that burned down in the 90s.

Archive 81

The protagonist starts to restore multiple VHS tapes from the 90s and encounters a woman on one of the tapes. She’s the “creator” of all the tapes. She’s trapped in another dimension. In another realm. She asked the protagonist to “help her.” He’s in the present day and she’s stuck somewhere in the 90’s.

At one point there’s this movie called “Koyaanisqatsi” the girl stuck in the 90s references this movie. I later found the DVD and sent it to a guy I felt was stuck somewhere in time.

This guy, much like the girl in Archive 81 is stuck in time somewhere. Stuck in between a rock and a hard place. He can’t make a decision. Chat Gpt says he’s just scared because once he makes a decision he must face the consequences of his actions.

But what if the consequences of his actions are really not as bad as what he thinks they are. What if life on the other side is actually better than where he’s keeping himself stuck?

Unfortunately there’s no season two to Archive 81 so the protagonist is stuck eternally in a hospital room in the 90s while the the girl that was stuck in the 90s VHS tape is now free in the present time.

That’s a horrible way to live.
